THE MAGICIAN

Reconnecting with the art of astonishment of the Enlightenment, Jaquet Droz presented a new automaton in 2012: The Magician, the brand's new humanoid creation which plays with birds and is to be unveiled at the "Automates & Merveilles" exhibition devoted to Jaquet-Droz and Leschot. Animated by a mechanism composed of 1,437 different elements, this treasure of technology pushes attention to detail even further, for an optimal surprise effect. All the artistic crafts that Jaquet Droz has specialized in have been drawn upon throughout the creative process. The Magician is animated by a few turns of the key: as his head turns from right to left and his amazingly human gaze passes over the onlookers, his arms begin to move and his hands raise one bell after the other.
